Polterabend - 04.06.05

(Click the thumbnails for the big picture.)

The plan was an interesting one. Guy and Myriam are due to get married in July and so in the place of any Stag or Hen do a decision was made to have a joint bash in their place. Simple really, get the pair of them out of the house for a couple of hours, redecorate the apartment in a Hawaiian theme and Bob's your uncle. So, arriving at the apartment at about 4.30pm I was soon dispatched with Robert to go collect a beer table and some chairs.

This goes somewhat to explain how I found myself looking at this pair above. They were barbequeing rashers using chopsticks as utensils. About 2kg of rashers. If you hadn't noticed it was also raining. Very bizarre start to the evening indeed. Rashers were well tasty though.

Magaly, the mad French woman who organised the whole thing. The baby is Chloe, Guy n' Myriams little one.

Guys sister hiding in the bathroom.

Peekaboo.

And eventually Myriam arrived home.

You'll remember I mentioned that there was a Hawaiian theme to the evening. That should explain the grass hula skirt, seashell bra and banana belt above. Well, almost.

The happy couple on their own private island, complete with palm tree.

A smiling Sand. Quite a rare photo that.

There were a couple of babies  knocking around on the evening. This one decided to ditch the party and have a nap.

Guy Benson getting some unwanted attention from Arnaud.

Food glorious food!

The responsibility for the balloon decoration falls to Guys sister. Nuff said.

Arnaud busy at work making cocktails.

It's art so it is.

Arnaud holds out two eggs. One is hard boiled and the other is not. Guy must choose and be hit on the head with the chosen egg. The idea being that Myriam will be hit on the head with the other one. Turns out neither egg is hard boiled. Guy gets one on the head and in a surprising move, Arnaud gives Guy the other and is quickly on the receiving end of it himself.

Julie gets upset when her daddy gets egged.

Apparently egg is very good for your hair. Not great as a face mask though.

Sandhu on his desert island. Well it wouldn't be a desert island without Sand. I do apologise for that joke. It really wasn't very good.

Two girls and a pot of chocolate sauce. The mind boggles with possibilities.

Cute French girl covered in chocolate sauce. Close your eyes and say that phrase over a couple of times in your head. Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

Guy and his banana belt.

Kathrin ready for some chocolate fondue action.

En Guard!

The standard, "I miss Greebo" look.

Time to go sleepy-byes.
