A week away from snowy Stockholm for me and similar Munich for Kathrin. We arrived down in Calahonda on the Friday evening for a week of well planned out nothingness. The requirements were simple, a bit of sun and very little else.
Dinner A-La-Kathrin. Chicken breast marinaded in a red wine, garlic & jerk seasoning with prawns and mixed veggies all baked for about and hour and a half. Served up with garlic bread. Top notch tucker!
Paul & Nicole arrived down on the Tuesday evening. You'll notice that in most of the shots Paul is clutching his new toy. They are heading off to America for three weeks so this was serving as a practise run for the digital video camera.
On the Wednesday after a bit of shopping in La Canada we headed over to Puerto Banus to ogle the boats n' cars of the rich and shameless.
That evening after a great feed in Miel Y Nata we repaired to Johnnie's for a few tipples of choice.
Thursday morning brought us over to Gibraltar for a visit. Above you can see the work going on in the glass factory.
And then up the rock for views n' monkeys.
I had a monkey on my head!!! The little chap hopped on board just long enough for a passing stranger to take my camera and grab this shot. Cheers mate.
Chickens. Now that I did not expect.
Some serious monkey loving.
Grooming time.
The best seat in the house.
Just time for a little drinkie and hat-trying-on after our descent before heading back to our matching Fiat Pandas. Incidentally, our motors for the holiday were provided by Eurosur Calahonda.
Paul checking out the view from up the hill by El Porton where the construction work just keeps going.
Bacon butties from the little cafe in El Zoco. Loads of bacon in toast or a roll for only €2 each. Great stuff.
Down at the beach in Cabopino. Myself and Paul were supposed to play golf while the girls sunbathed but the gods conspired against us and the course was closed for a private competition. Boo Hiss.
After a refreshing...ok bloody freezing...dip in the pool at the apartment.
Friday evening we had a BBQ up on the roof. Chicken, sausages, prawns and loads of veggies washed down with a combination of beer, red wine and G&Ts. You can't ask for better than that.
And there you have it. A great week spent in Spain with great company and not an elephant in sight.
