Oktoberfest 03.10.05
(Click the thumbnails for the big picture.)
Met up with Aaron & Vic at about 4pm and headed over to the Löwenbräu to where Latty & Martin had acquired seats. Being the extra Monday at the end of the Oktoberfest, the tents were substantially quieter than on previous days. Most tourists had gone home. The tents were still heaving but you could actually move around and in most cases find a space to plant yourself.
Wiesn coffee break.
As usual, the photo girls. This one took our photo and was looking for €6.80 for the printed version. Crazy money.
The slogan on this girls badge was "Yes, I also have eyes.". Quality!
So after not buying lots of hats, bracelets, photos, etc, etc, it was time to move on. After a brief detour through the Schottenhammel we found ourselves over in the Hofbräu tent.
McGee, first name Ulich.
As it says on the Hofbräu website, "The Hofbräu-Festzelt is the biggest beer-tent at the Oktoberfest. It is on top the only one with a standing only area just in front of our band-podium for your pleasure. 12 centner hop from the Holledau are forming the decoration". Now I for one have no idea what a "centner hop from the Holledau" is but believe me, there are 12 of them in the Hofbräu.
Aloisius keeping watch over the proceedings.
So lots of dancy-dancy, drinky-drinky at the Hofbräu.
Another Oktoberfest notched up. Just three visits this time around so not too hectic. Went the first and middle Saturdays and then the last day. Think next year I'll restrict it to mid-week visits. Less mental.
That's all folks!
