Various & Ronnie's Party

(Click the thumbnails for the big picture.)

Bit of a mixed bag this time round. These first few were taken in Kilian's on the night of Kristin's going away party.

Dinner was in Hard Rock Cafe and then afterwards we headed over to Kilian's for a bit of live music (courtesy of Paul Daly & friends) and a few pints. Certainly better than the Ayinger in HRC!

Moving swiftly on, we have a couple here from an alleged BBQ which we organised last weekend. The weather was a bit on the iffy side so we decided to fire up the barbie on my balcony. Apparently this is frowned upon in Bavarian society. Ok so it's completely illegal, so after about 6 sausages and half a pork chop the neighbours were up in arms and we had to put it out. Bloody spoilsports.

So after a BBQ done in the pan and a bit of a session courtesy of the talents of Steve Bowman & Gerd Güntzel we headed over to Ligsalz for a few. Steve brought his guitar and the session continued until well late.

Erm, these are some turtles in Westpark.

... and a goose...

...and some trees.

The two boys above are Gary and Gerry. Or as they like to be known, Gerry & Gary and their USED Underwear. The venue was Zoozie's for the Long Night of Music. Actually the night wasn't that long as they basically just played 2 sets with about 4 songs each. The 15 Euro per head was easily earned.

Granted we could have gone on to one of the hundreds of other venues participating in the night but we decided to take it relatively easy.

Oh and they had exotic dancers (of sorts) on stage with them.

Anyway, on to the main event. The 30th Birthday celebrations of Zum Kuchldragoner, aka Ronnie's, in Vienna. Drove over on Sunday morning and checked into the old reliable Atlanta Hotel. After a swifty in Charlie P's, and one in Shooters we headed to Ronnie's for the party.

The man of the moment, Mr. Ronald Gutharc, waxing lyrical.

Kev Purcell taking a call from Mrs Kev who was back in England. She claims no responsibility for Kev's choice of shirt.

Looking after our needs for the evening were Sabine & Kristine.

Kev having a refill and then cutting out the middle-man.

Since Ronnie is quite the man-about-town in Viennese society there were quite a few famous faces at the party. Of course since none of us have the faintest idea what's going on, anywhere really, we had no clue who they were. But, apparently the chap in the Oliver Twist hat beside the dodgy Beckham lookalike is quite well known. Answers on a mail to who_the_hell_is_he@keydeck.com

Myself, Kathrin, Martyn Latty and Barry Seddon enjoying the free food and drink.

You might think it's easy coming up with stuff to write about all these photos. Well I can tell you it's not.

The famous five lining up for a photo shoot. No doubt some of these photos will be in the Austrian press. Of course the official photographer managed to consistently avoid our table. No surprises there. We suspect it may have been Kev's shirt that scared them away.

Da Boyz hogging the keg.

It's a chin thing. Don't ask!

Seddon, Ronnie, Latty, Purcell and Sabine, oh and me hidden in there too.

And then after Ronnie's we went straight back to the hotel, honest.

Next day myself & Kathrin went for a mosy and some shopping up Mariahilferstraße. Just to clear the cobwebs before heading back to Munich with GP.

Last but not least. An amazing scene over the National History Museum with three birds of completely different species flying in formation. Or something like that.
