Decided that a little break somewhere which didn't involve snow & ice was required, so we headed down to my parents apartment in Spain for a long weekend. Calahonda is situated on the Costa del Sol between Marbella & Malaga.

Took a trip into Malaga to have a look around. The city itself didn't have much in the way of charm, but the castle of Alcazaba is definitely worth a visit.

I particularly liked the photo in the middle above. I guess the guys building the steps and walls started at the near end and when they got as far as the door, realised that they'd miscalculated slightly and built the whole thing a bit too far to the right. I can just picture the Spanish equivalent of an "Oh B*ll*cks!" moment, accompanied by a lot of head scratching and a bloke saying "but it looked right on the plans".

Sitting in Johnny's bar on the right side of a couple of Ron Y Miel's. Johnny's is the closest bar to the apartment and so has become our local. The man himself is originally from the Canary Islands.
