Christmas 2002

(Click the thumbnails for the big picture.)

Fruit n Veg stall with a model of the Frauenkirche in the background.          All sorts of hand-crafts to tempt you out of your cash.     Sweets, cakes & biccies. Excellent!

Scary little people.

A hot Mrs. Claus outside a jewelry/perfume shop.     This is what happens to fountains in Munich durign winter. That's why most of them are switched off.

A few pictures taken in Munich before I headed home for the holidays. These were taken around the Christmas markets on Kaufingerstr & Marienpaltz.

Trying to adopt one of those stylish pointing poses. Didn't work.

Out for a drive with Miranda and we stopped off at a spot overlooking Dalkey island. There's a tunnel which runs underwater out to the island, but it's been blocked up for years. I remember trying to get through it when I was still at school (all those years ago), but no joy.

Out for dinner with the gang in an Indian restaurant in Ballsbridge. Excellent food and excellent service. It's quite a small place but there must have been about eight waiters buzzing about making sure evevryone was sorted. Most people brought their own booze, but I gave the house beers a lash. Not bad either. There were actually more people at the table than the photos above would imply, but my photographic judgement was impaired due to a few pints across the road beforehand and quite a few Indian beers.

Just having a little brandy at home in the kitchen before turning in for the night.

A shop window on Nassau Street.          Ten Euro split six ways doesn't go very far.     The Ha'penny bridge over the river Liffey.     The view up the river.     and of course, the view down the river.

Guinness sold here, now there's a find in Dublin.     Toy soliders in the Jervis Street shopping centre.     Tá sé anseo.

The famous Gallaghers Boxty House               A pint of plain is yer only man!     Urban decay

All sorts of stuff around Dublin from bicycle cops to Guinness deliveries.
