Oktoberfest 2003

So it begins!!!

Yes, it's almost that time of the year again. Oktoberfest is coming around with frightening speed. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I won't be around for much of it this year but I'll certainly make a token appearance at the weekends.

Many of the roughly 200,000 visitors per day to the Wiesn will emerge from this U-bahn station, Theresienhöhe! The place gets like a madhouse and given the temperatures we're currently experiencing it's going to be like a sauna down there.

As you can see, most of the external work has been completed on some of the tents already.

And clearly a sign that some building contractors are being paid far too much. This a Ferrari Enzo and you can pick one up second hand for around 900,000 Euro.

As always the various canteens provide beers & food for the workers and anyone else who fancies it.

For long distance calls back to mom & pop.

Anyone who's seen my photos from previous years may think I'm just reusing old photos but I wouldn't dream of doing such a dispicible thing. These are all new stuff. Check if you don't believe me.

So, September 20th is the kick-off day. Be there or be square!!
