According to the friendly waiter, "Yum" is Thai for salad. This is why the salads section of the menu is called Yum and also why the first choice, their house salad, is called Yum Yum. Why one would call a restaurant "Salad" is beyond me, but each to their own. Yum is a very classy Thai restaurant on a little street off Blumenstr., quite close to the Viktualienmarkt. The atmosphere is cosy & romantic, the service is the some of the best I've seen in any type of restaurant in Munich and the food is, how can I put this, Yum-yum. Starters will set you back between 5 and 9 Euro with main courses averaging around the 10 to 16 region. Wines knock in between about 10 and 30 Euro depending on what you want. If you're waiting for a table or just want to have a looksee at the place, there's a nice enough bar area where you can have a few drinks. I definitely recommend this place if you're going on a date or if you just want to enjoy a very nice atmosphere and top quality service. |
