Oktoberfest - Accomodation If you are planning to come to Munich for the Oktoberfest then the sooner you sort out your accomodation the better. Don't expect to be able to book a hotel room anywhere near the Wiesn in the month or two before things kick off, they'll all be gone. Here's a list of a number of hotels and pensions below which are in a reasonably close vicinity to the Wiesn.
Apart from those above you can book accomodation online with the Munich Tourist Office. You may also consider staying at a camping site. There's a well established company located in Riem who rent out tents at nightly rates. Check out their website at Wies'n-Camp for more information. You can also find camping information at Campingplatz-Muenchen. Many people come to Munich in camper vans for Oktoberfest. These are particularly prevalent during the second weekend which is when almost the entire population of northern Italy arrives in Munich. If you do happen to be driving to town during the festival stay well away from the Wies'n if at all possible. The roads are an absolute nightmare for the entire 2 week period.
